Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia, Deport 29 Indonesian Workers

BATAM - 29 Indonesian Workers (TKI) of Malaysia repatriated by the Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia (consulate) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, through the Setulang Laut Port Malaysia, Friday (24/2) afternoon. They arrived at Batam Centre International Port at around 02.00 pm with the image of the ship riding Dumai Express II with an escort consulate officials.

Two of 29 migrants who were returned are children aged less than one month and one elderly aged more than 60 years who are paralyzed. Others were 26 adult females and one male adult.

According to the Consulate General in Johor Bahru Malaysia officers who were guarding their status, Muchtar Madiekun, 29 migrant workers come to the consulate in Johor with a variety of reasons. "They're our capacity in advance at the consulate and after all business is completed, we sent home via Batam," said Muchtar at the International Port of Batam Centre.

The migrants, mostly from Java, the most complained about unpaid wages by the employer and there is also a pain. "Migrant workers sent home on this day no one was tortured or become victims of physical abuse by their employers," he said.

According to one of the workers who did not give his name, he was asked to return because it is no longer comfortable working in Malaysia. "I'm tired of working in Malaysia mas a domestic servant," he said.

According to the Social Service Task Force companion workers (Social Affairs) Batam, Febriana, while they will be accommodated in temporary shelters in Sekupang for the processing of their return to their hometown. "Furthermore, our data will reset the interest of the workers to return to their respective regions using Pelni ship on Wednesday of next week," he said.

Febriana said, regarding the repatriation of funds will be fully borne by the central government. While an ailing elderly workers will undergo treatment at the Hospital of the Batam Authority (RSOB) Sekupang Batam. "The pain will be treated to recover recently repatriated to their home areas," said Febriana.

Febriana also added that during 2012 was three times the Consulate General in Johor Bahru to repatriate migrants via Batam by the number of 57 workers.
